Taking its name from the mythic land of knowledge, art, and learning, Shangri-La Gifts and Publications offers high quality, innovative books, gifts and fine arts at reasonable prices. We specialize in haute couture silk velvet devore fashions of our own creation, vintage Louis Vuitton collectables, the finest artists from around the world, and a wealth of exotic gift items.

In 1998, we formed Shangri-La Publications to care for the riches of the mind, to promote cross-cultural understanding, and to lead the way in human rights. Our main headquarters is at 3 Coburn Hill Rd, Warren Center PA 18851 USA and our retail shops are in Ithaca and Cortland, NY and in London, England.

We are happy to fill invoice orders and offer a discount for standing orders. To keep expenses low we do not currently accept credit card orders, but can accept PayPal orders. Orders may be faxed, mailed or sent by E-mail. We have recently made arrangements with Century Book Distribution to act as our sales agent.

Founded in 1998, as an unincorporated non-profit publishing enterprise, Shangri-La promotes cross-cultural understanding through the publication of scholarly works in the arts and humanities. This year we are expanding our interest to include some fascinating works of fiction, while maintaining our focus in academic publishing.  All our books are hand bound. We continue to look for creative cross-cultural studies and will soon initiate an academic series focused on works translated from Chinese into English.

You will probably notice right away that it is hard to categorize Shangri-La Publications titles.  This is intentional.  We look for outstanding academic manuscripts that challenge the status quo and have no particular niche in the existing market.  We publish outside the box, for people who think outside the box.

Our recent move to more "popular" titles is no exception.  The mystery we are releasing this fall is a cross between theater expose, mystery thriller and psychological exploration.  The children's book we are soon to release is a cross between science fiction and science fact, while exploring the delicate balance between humans and the other creatures living on earth.

Shangri-La Publications was formed to promote cross-cultural understanding and human rights.  We are organized as a Pennsylvania Non-profit Unincorporated Association (2903414).
